Statement:

Maddie likes trash and alleys. She wants you to look closely at things you don’t want to look at. She investigates the enchanting, strange, and entropic nature of everyday life. Her work often engages objects and places in a state of disuse. Maddie’s studio practice, while varying, is invested in the miniature and the intricacies of hand making. She challenges our everyday experience of place by recreating snapshots of moments frozen in time. The fragile and static nature of her work suggests something, fleeting, in the process of growth and decay.
